Floating on a postcard lake in one of Kashmir's famous houseboats is the way to see how this place earned the name, "The Venice of the East". Water - powered peddlers sell everything from saffron to paper mache deer to the houseboat door. Ride a Shikara - a Kashmiri gondola - to the watery vegetable markets and see the mountains mirrored in the lakes. Himalayan Odyseey can book direct a fleet of houseboats on Dal or Nagin Lake in Srinagar, Kashmir's capital. The houseboats are grand with hand - carved furniture and rich Kashmiri carpets. Day 1 DELHI -SRINAGAR. 
Transfer to airport for flight to Srinagar on arrival transfer to House Boats. Afternoon boat ride of the lake.

Day 2 : Tour of city & gardens.

Day 3 : Drive to Sonmarg for trekking overnight in camp.

Day 4 : Trekking overnight in camp.

Day 5 : Trekking overnight in camp.

Day 6 : Pickup from Sonmarg & drive to Kargil. Overnight in Hotel.

Day 7 : Drive from Kargil to Leh. On the way will be visiting Lamaurua.

Day 8 : Day at leisure.

Day 9 : Full day tour of monasteries, Hemis Tiksey and Shey.

Day 10 : Half day trip to Alchi.
